Built in 1827 by Robert Sayer, a real-life heir of Fleet Street (centre of the universe for London journalism and press in the 1900s), Sibton Park is the quintessential Georgian manor house. Sayer enlisted the help of celebrated architect, Decimus Burton, to great effect: giant stone pillars frame the house and its dramatic portico entrance, while the serpentine driveway twists and turns through lakeside views and huge oak trees.
