The Birth of WeddingBooker.com

07/02/2019

With over 20 years in the wedding industry, our MD Ben knows only too well about the unique requirements of couples preparing to get married. He is familiar with the challenges of delivering a day to remember time and time again, for each couple on their most special day. For more than fifteen years Ben and his event hire team have collaborated with many wedding venues across South Wales, working together to make couples dreams a reality. From this experience and knowledge, WeddingBooker.com was born.

It was clear to Ben that newly engaged men and women in the UK needed help with venue search and selection. What a confusing online market it is! Where to start? So much choice! Do I choose a photographer first? If I want a specific date do I really need to ring around every venue? What on earth does ‘rustic romance’ or ‘city chic’ actually mean when choosing your type of venue?

Wedding coordinators, event planners and sales directors are starting to question the results coming from the subscriptions that their venue has signed up for. Ben recalls a 5 star venue wedding coordinator who said she would come in every Monday, to face at least 15 emails asking her to send out brochures – to prospects which would normally not turn into anything! How much time can be wasted answering the question ‘When can I come to see you?’ and ‘Is that date available in your diary?’

Ben’s creative juices started to flow and for the last 2 years the team at WeddingBooker.com has been focused on working with venues and couples, researching the ever changing market to make wedding venue search and selection as simple and straightforward as possible.

Clearly, consumer buying habits have changed significantly but the wedding industry is reacting more slowly. Embracing these changes will transform the industry and the experience for couples.   Gone are the days where couples want 20 brochures. They want access to as much choice as possible and be able to do as much as possible online. WeddingBooker.com wants you to be able to browse venues in front of the TV on a Saturday night, whilst watching X Factor with a glass of wine.

Wedding coordinators dream of turning up to work on a Monday morning to a full diary of wedding show-rounds, without the need for multiple emails agreeing on a date and time. With couples visiting on average fewer than 3 venues before making the big choice, turning these opportunities into bookings and ultimately income, is huge. There are real questions now about whether the traditional wedding fayre is more about suppliers rather than the venue itself. Does all that time, effort and investment turn into more quality bookings?

We know that the majority of couples getting engaged and looking for that special venue are millennials. We live in an age of convenience technology. Why would they spend ten minutes on the phone to book a room at a hotel when there’s an app for that?!

WeddingBooker.com launched as the largest choice of wedding venues in the UK totally dedicated to wedding venue search and selection. We don’t do flowers, photography, cakes or fashion, we are totally focused on partnering with wedding venues and focusing all of our digital marketing activity on couples who will be proactively looking to set their date and book their venue.

Our online appointment booking system revolutionises the entire process. Those couples sat at home on a Saturday night, excited about booking their wedding show-rounds can do so very easily; with WeddingBooker.com on their laptop on one side and mobile on the other –  ringing the mother-of-the-bride to see if she can join them. at the viewing. Fast forward to Monday morning and when the wedding coordinator turns up for work, there is confirmation that a wedding show-round has been booked! It’s as simple and straightforward as that.
