Bradford City Hall Wedding Venue is a spectacular 19th century grade I listed building originally designed in a Venetian Gothic style, with later Italian and French influence additions added. The clock tower was inspired by the campanile of the...Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.
As well as the Marriage Room on the ground floor, City Hall boasts additional facilities which can be booked for use at the weekend for marriage ceremonies.
There are two reception rooms which can be used separately or together as they have a dividing internal door. Originally, these rooms were used by the Lord Mayors. The rooms are generally used for welcome drinks or buffets as they are situated next to the kitchen and Banqueting Hall. These are ideal facilities for welcome refreshments, champagne or canapés .
Reception Room 1 is closest to the Banqueting Hall and can seat approximately 24 people. Reception Room 2 features an imposing oval table that can seat 12 guests. The two rooms can be used individually for small events, or both together for slightly larger parties. The Banqueting Suite incorporates the Banqueting Hall and both Reception Rooms.
THE BANQUETING HALL:
The magnificent baronial elegance and splendour of the Banqueting Hall is truly awe-inspiring. Seating up to 110 guests with a traditional layout of a top table and 10 round tables. Alternatively the imposingly regal horseshoe table can seat up to 65 people.
The Hall has hosted many high profile banquets and receptions including two visits by Her Majesty the Queen. It is also where the Lord Mayor holds many functions.
THE ERNEST SAVILLE ROOM:
The Ernest Saville Room is a beautiful wood panelled room which retains an air of calm formality ideal for smaller functions, seating a maximum of 60 people.
City Hall specialises in banquets with a western theme in line with what has been provided for royalty, presidents and prime ministers who have dined under its roof, however, we also offer Halal South Asian food and will endeavour to provide other food on request. The services provided can be buffet, family service or waitress service, or you can simply choose to have just canapés and drinks to celebrate the union of two people, the registration of a birth or the naming of an individual.
THE COUNCIL CHAMBER:
Arrestingly grand, the Council Chamber provides seating for 100 people in a tiered horseshoe with standing room for a further 30. The decorative vaulted ceiling affords acoustical perfection ensuring all your guests can clearly hear your vows.
The Council Chamber is used for all full council meetings as well as committee meetings. It also houses a public and press gallery. Food cannot be consumed within the Council Chamber. What more elegant setting could there be for photographs than the magnificent staircase?
