Set in beautiful Essex countryside, Forrester Park is an independent venue which has been hosting wedding celebrations for over 50 years.

A traditional style building, parts of which date back to the 16th century, the venue is licensed for...both indoor and outdoor civil ceremonies.


We will help organise your day just the way you want it, whether you create your own format or choose an inclusive package. We do not ask for a minimum number of guests and there are no ‘hidden extras’.

If you opt for a TRADITIONAL STYLE WEDDING you will typically start with an early afternoon ceremony followed by reception drinks with or without canapés and then a two-or three-course Wedding Breakfast. Further guests are then usually invited to join the day guests for an evening buffet and dancing.

You may prefer a TWILIGHT WEDDING, with a later ceremony followed by reception drinks, again with or without canapés. This would lead straight into the evening celebrations with a meal for all your guests, followed by dancing.


FORRESTERS SUITE can seat up to 120 people and has its own bar, dance floor and cloakrooms. It is available for exclusive hire throughout the day and evening.

THE CLUBHOUSE is ideal for reception drinks or an evening party with dancing, and is available for exclusive hire after 7.30pm.

The MILLENNIUM LAWN ‘secret garden’ ceremony area, along with the garden, terrace and grounds, make a beautiful backdrop for your wedding.

For larger weddings you can combine the Suite and the Clubhouse for up to 200 people for a reception.

Alternatively our OAK ROOM and WILLOW ROOM are perfect for smaller ceremonies of up to 20 people.


Leading the catering team are Head Chef Paul Tritton and Sous Chef Matt Hawkins, both of whom have worked at Forrester Park for over a decade. They love to make people happy with their food! Everything is prepared on the premises by our in-house team (we never use outside caterers) and we have a wide selection of dishes to suit almost every taste.

We offer a selection of starters, main courses and desserts, plus barbecue and carvery menus which are a great alternative to a traditional wedding breakfast. Our full menus contain many more dishes, the ones on these pages are just examples.

We also offer lighter buffet and barbecue menus for an evening celebration following a wedding breakfast.

We are happy to cater for vegetarians and other dietary requirements.


Our hospitality team is always on hand to help with all the little questions that come up and generally be a guiding hand throughout the run-up to your wedding to make everything as stress-free as possible.

There are no ‘hidden extras’ - our charges include table linen, crockery, cutlery, glassware, all staffing costs and VAT. This means that when we quote a price you know exactly what you will be spending and there are no unexpected supplements.

You may wish to decorate the venue yourself and provide your own flowers, decorations, music or other entertainment, or you may prefer us to arrange everything. Either way (to use our favourite phrase), “it’s not a problem”!
