At Swinfen Hall we have three very beautiful and photogenic rooms which are licensed for civil weddings and civil partnership ceremonies both large and small. Saturday church weddings may still be extremely popular but with the flexibility of civil wedding ceremonies being held on any day of the week, there are many more options available.

The other great advantage of getting married where you are having your wedding reception is being under one roof whatever the weather. No problems of bedraggled, windswept guests arriving from the church or trying to avoid rain puddles in your beautiful white wedding dress and satin shoes.

Many brides will stay the night before with their bridesmaids so they can get ready in comfort in the certain knowledge that everything is under control and they can relax and enjoy their wedding morning in style.

Swinfen Hall Hotel is beautifully laid out for a wedding reception with the magnificent foyer and cocktail lounge providing a stunning backdrop for the Champagne reception on arrival.

A long corridor with crystal chandeliers leads down to the oak-panelled ballroom, providing a natural location for the greeting line, if so desired.

Our splendid Edwardian ballroom, which has a raised stage, a 24-foot high ceiling and fully sprung dance floor can comfortably seat up to 110 guests for a wedding breakfast and with the adjoining bar, can accommodate up to 160 guests for an evening party.

Although we only ever have one wedding at Swinfen Hall on any given day, the hotel can be hired on an exclusive use basis. So what do we mean by exclusivity? Basically the entire hotel and our extensive gardens and grounds are yours and yours alone – a WOW factor that is hard to beat. We close the restaurant and private dining room and turn all other business away. It also includes complimentary use of all 18 bedrooms and suites, so if your guests are paying for their own accommodation this becomes a very affordable option, especially at quieter times of the year.

Exclusive use not only gives you privacy and the ultimate luxury of being Lord and Lady of the manor for the day, but it also offers many practical benefits. The evening buffet can be laid out in the restaurant, the private dining room can become a children’s entertainment room or créche and the cocktail lounge can offer a quiet refuge during the evening party.
