We think that your wedding is more than just that day. What makes it a really special event is the time you spend with your family and friends both before the day, and on the day after to reflect and unwind. We only hold a small number of weddings a year so we feel it is really important for you to have this time to enjoy. The wedding party and guests can stay in the middle of a National Nature Reserve in England in bespoke accommodation sleeping up to 114 guests.

The barn and courtyard are yours to set up exactly as you like and you are entirely free to use any supplier you like. Live bands and good discos are positively encouraged! Passing under the stone archway, along the gravel path and past the door of the manor’s Undercroft, the 10 acres of beautiful award winning gardens come into view, as do the picture perfect sunken pond and beautiful far reaching views across the River Medway. With a large marquee perfectly placed to benefit from these wonderful sights, everything combines to provide the perfect setting for a quintessentially English wedding.

A glimpse into how your Wedding Day at Nettlestead Place may unfold, could be as follows –
You pass under the beautiful 14th century gatehouse and down the yew tree lined drive in your bridal car or horse and carriage, with nervous excitement of what is to come. If having your Wedding Ceremony at the venue, you make your way to either the beautiful Rose Garden or stunning 13th Century Undercroft. Here you will be greeted by the smiling faces of family and friends and best of all……. your partner. The registrar will conduct the ceremony for you to officially become a married couple.
After the Wedding Ceremony or arrival from the Church, you have your first chance as a married couple to greet all your guests and share with them Champagne and canapés on the broad gravel terrace overlooking the manor’s sunken pond. Whilst your guests continue to wander through the idyllic gardens and across the manicured lawns and enjoy the water features, sculptures, streams and beautiful views down to the river and the sweeping countryside beyond, you have the opportunity for your photographs.
If the weather is inclement, the Undercroft and elegantly furnished yet comfortable sitting room and spacious hall provide room for after ceremony drinks and photographs. The sitting room and Undercroft have welcoming open fires that add to the unique atmosphere and cosines of the manor.
Nettlestead Place’s 10 acre gardens are a photographer’s dream and offer an idyllic choice of settings for your wedding day photographs. Everyone is reunited in the wedding marquee, which is perfectly located to benefit from the stunning views across the valley to the fields beyond, in time for the Wedding Reception and serving of the exquisitely crafted culinary delights that await. Accompanied by drinks of your choice, the speeches and toasts will follow and get everyone in the mood for the evening celebrations.
With the bar open and your special evening guests arriving, the party celebrations can truly get into full swing and you can dance the night away with all your family and friends.
After such a wonderful but long wedding day, you may decide to slip away early and leave your guests to enjoy the rest of the evening, safe in the knowledge that they will continue to be catered for by our attentive evening staff. Amplified music is to conclude by 11.15pm, last orders at the bar at 11.30pm and carriages are for 12.00am.

A banquet-style wedding breakfast will be served in the largest room of the Castle, the Henry VIII Banqueting Hall. The room boasts impressive views across the moat, a grand 16th century French Caen stone fireplace and magnificent ebony floor.
Retire after dinner with your guests to the opulent 1920s Castle Drawing Rooms and continue your celebrations with dancing in the Heraldry Room before staying overnight in one of the luxurious period Castle bedrooms.
Maiden’s Tower Weddings
The Maiden’s Tower is an elegant, exclusive hire venue adjacent to the Castle. The 16th century stone building, used for weekend house parties in the 1920s, is now a glamorous self-contained venue perfect for your wedding ceremony, evening celebrations and overnight accommodation.
Standing separate from the Castle, this fine late-Tudor structure replaced an earlier medieval building known as the Square Tower until the 19th century. The tower was reconstructed as part of Henry VIII’s rebuilding work, apparently to accommodate the queen’s ladies in waiting.
The venue consists of two function rooms with French doors leading into a charming private garden and five en-suite five star bedrooms, all beautifully decorated in period style with a contemporary twist, offering views across the moat to the golf course and surrounding parkland.
Garden Party Weddings
The ‘Garden Party Wedding’ has been designed for couples looking to combine their special day with the beautiful setting of Leeds Castle and a relaxed, informal style of celebration. Exclusive hire of the Maiden’s Tower and walled garden lends itself beautifully to this, a wonderful venue where you and your guests are invited to take the day at your own pace.
In keeping with the laid back atmosphere, the menu options allow you to pick from a host of tastes. Choose one style of food from sizzling BBQs to delicious Bowl Food or Festival Street Food platters and join your guests at the party drinks bar, stocked with a selection of your choice and run as a free bar to a set allocation. As the light begins to fade and the fairy lights start to glow, your evening party can begin, with additional guests if you wish. A choice of one of three menus will be available for the evening and then when you are ready to take to the floor, dance the night away in The Long Gallery.
Accommodation - The five luxury en-suite bedrooms in the Maiden’s Tower will be at your disposal and for the ten lucky guests staying overnight in the Maiden’s Tower, a full English breakfast will be served the following morning in the Fairfax Hall.
The Fairfax Barn
The Fairfax Barn, a 17th century Kentish timber-framed barn, is the ideal reception venue if you are getting married in the Maiden’s Tower or at another location and wish to celebrate with 100 to 200 evening guests.
Offering some of the most spectacular views of the Castle, with doors leading outside to a large terrace where your guests can mingle on a fine evening.
You and your partner can have stunning wedding photographs taken in the grounds and gardens while your guests enjoy the hospitality of our staff and evening entertainment.
Twilight Wedding Package in Leeds Castle's Fairfax Barn
What could be more magical than a twilight wedding reception, offering some of the most spectacular views of one of England’s most historical buildings? The Twilight Wedding Package offers a more atmospheric setting, giving you and your guests an extraordinary evening experience from 5pm until midnight.
Held within the Kentish timber-framed Fairfax Barn, the venue can host up to 200 guests, with doors leading outside to a large terrace, showcasing captivating sights of the grounds and Castle.
The Twilight Wedding Package includes a reception drink, superb three course wedding breakfast from our Silver Menu, a sparkling toast and tea and coffee served with chocolates. There are also ten Stable Courtyard bedrooms available for guests to stay, and a morning breakfast for up to 20 of your closest friends and family.
Marquee Receptions
If you are planning a wedding with more than 200 guests, a marquee on the Cedar Lawn offers additional space and added flexibility for your celebration, with stunning views.

The Battle Hall
This large and comfortable hall, full of character and distinctive historical features will be available for exclusive weddings, large and small. Say ‘I do’ in the beautiful Ceremony Room, featuring rich oak panelling - and move on into the drawing room or library, both wonderfully traditional rooms, for celebrating with your guests. The private gardens area is an equally idyllic space for wedding celebrations in the warmer months, with the opportunity to take your vows under a romantic, old English bower. Upstairs five luxurious en-suite guest bedrooms offer stunning views of the gardens, the far North Downs and glimpses of Leeds Castle.
The adjacent grade two listed Battel Hall Oast offers a further bathroom and two bedrooms.

Vast, with high ceilings, the Great Hall at Knowlton accommodates 100 guests and is fully licensed for Civil Wedding Ceremonies and Civil Partnerships. An elegant room, perfectly suited for any celebration or ceremony, the Great Hall is a sumptuous setting at the heart of our historic home. St Clement’s is a delightful and romantic private chapel here at Knowlton and we would be delighted to arrange a blessing to follow a civil ceremony.
We would be pleased to welcome your bridal party to our family home and our brides always tell us that it is the family atmosphere of Knowlton which makes it so special. We have a number of properties within the Estate, which can accommodate up to 64 guests. Many of our bridal parties choose to host friends and family at Knowlton for their celebrations.
Our warm and welcoming accommodation includes the delightful Dower House and many families choose to take advantage of all that this ten-bedroom home has to offer - making the celebration last for days!

Kennington Hall
Kennington Hall has seating for up to 80 wedding guests, the Garden or Summerhouse for the
wedding ceremony and a large terrace for the wedding reception. Our venue is not only a beautiful setting for your day, but it has everything in one place.
The Summerhouse
An outdoor wedding is very much desired but also tricky with the weather in the UK, so the Summerhouse at Kennington Hall is the perfect retreat from the elements. It is cool in the sunshine and dry if it rains. We can accommodate 80 guests on the lawn to watch the ceremony, and a gazebo can be added to cover the seating.
The Garden
Kennington Hall is set in 12 acres of land with a large lawn area, which is ideal for marquees and entertainment, such as bouncy castles and bands. The garden is full of features that are ideal for photography, such as the large rhododendron bushes, the sunken pond, the walled garden, the yew hedges, the forest walk and the stream.
The Terrace
The large open terrace surrounds the lounge and ball room with flowered borders and steps up to the lawn. This area is perfect for welcome drinks and receptions.

ceremony room, whilst should the weather be glorious, our quintessential gazebo in our large secluded garden is the perfect place for an outdoor lawn ceremony.

Following the ceremony, take a moment to unwind with your guests whilst we hand out your drinks & canapés of choice maybe a chilled flute of Prosecco or a fruity glass of Pimms alongside our Tandoori Chicken & Peach Chutney Bites or our skewered King Prawns with garlic aioli.

Inside there is the oak beamed Ceremony Room which dates to 1750. Winters Barns is a place where special memories are easily made.
We will even book your Celebrant and Registrar for you with the Ceremonies Team from Kent County Council.
Alternatively, if you wish to have a church ceremony we have two local churches, in Nackington and Lower Hardres.

From booking you have access to our team to help plan and schedule your wedding. We offer unlimited phone and email support, co-ordinating site visits, menu and wine tastings and provide a dedicated team of wedding co-ordinators to be your personal assistants on the day. As a courtesy, when your celebration is in the herb garden, we hire a marquee that can be fully enclosed, at no additional cost, should the English weather turn.

The Lounge and Conservatory can both be used for dining while pre-reception drinks are often held in the Gallery or on the Terrace.
The Lounge is the original drawing room of the house, with long bay windows that open to the terrace. Double doors lead to the Victorian Conservatory which has an incredible canopy of wisteria giving fragrant blooms.
The smaller Gallery features a large alcove bay window with outstanding views across the valley, making it the perfect place to exchange vows.
We create bespoke menus for weddings held at St Julians and our brochure features a selection of the different dishes we offer.

Preston Court
Not just a barn and a garden, Preston Court Wedding Venue is full of wonderful surprises!
It's a large farm with many heritage buildings and a pretty rural church forming a conservation area.
Inside many of the old farm buildings are housed a large and unique collection of steam engines, fairground rides and musical organs (including the Victorian Carousel), with the large Gothic style Oast House being home to Victorian beam engines and other curiosities. Dotted around the farmyards and barns you will see all kinds of antique traction engines and steam locomotives. Part of The Steam Museum collection, these form a unique backdrop to add another dimension to your celebrations.
The Kent Barn:
The 17th century ‘Kentish’ Barn can be used for civil marriages, the renewal of vows, naming ceremonies and civil partnerships on every day of the week.
This is a simple but enchanting open-framed wooden building which can seat up to 120 people for ceremonies and receptions. There is a maximum capacity of up to 150 guests in the evening.
The space is versatile and can be decorated and themed to your requirements, while we also have an number of suitable plans and table dressing ideas.
Juliana's Island:
Licensed for outdoor weddings and blessings, this romantic island sits within the front lake at Preston Court.
Walk up the isle by crossing the pretty iron bridge.
Then have your intimate ceremony underneath the stunning wedding pagoda, craddled by an ancient yew tree.
Guests can watch the ceremony from rows of seating on the adjacent lawn.
St Mildred's Church:
Why not have a church wedding?
It’s now possible to marry in a church where you are not a member of the Parish.
St Mildred’s Church directly adjoins the gardens and farm at Preston Court, being less than 100 meters from the Kent Barn where receptions and celebrations can be held.
This gorgeous rural church has pre-Saxon origins and is surrounded by open farmland.
Church of England weddings are available at St Mildred’s, including to those with no prior connection to the parish, after agreement with the Reverend & Church Wardens. High Rocks
The High Rocks Wedding Venue can be found down a quiet country lane, just a few minutes

Our house is your home for the day, from the morning of your special day until 11.30pm although an extension to midnight is possible. In addition to this, dependent on availability, you may also be able to gain access on the day prior to allow for setting up.
